Goldfields Ghana on Tuesday, October 13 announced a sponsorship deal with Ghana Premier League side, Medeama SC worth $300, 000 for the 2020/ 21 season.
The Executive Vice President and head of Goldfields West Africa, Mr. Alfred Baku revealed that the club’s incredible performances in recent seasons informed the company’s decision to join forces with them.
The package is expected to cover the salaries of players and managers, medical expenses, accommodation, feeding, and logistics.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr. Baku urged the Management of the Club to use the funds for the purposes for which it has been assigned.
“We expect the Management of the club to use the funds solely for the purpose stipulated in the sponsorship agreement.”
Gold Fields Ghana are currently re-constructing the Tarkwa T&A Park, home of Medeama SC, to match the international standard.
Medeama Sporting Club, were twice top of the league, in the last two truncated GHPL seasons.
