Manhyia government Hospital in collaboration with JoBerg Company Ltd and Otumfour Foundation on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, cut sod for work to commence on the Manhyia Government Hospital Maternity Ward Expansion Project.
The project seeks to expand the current 16-bed capacity Maternity Ward to a 50-bed capacity.
Addressing the media Dr. Kamarudeen Korku Hussein medical superintendent of Manhyia Hospital emphasized the need for the project,
“Averagely we attend to 500 clients daily, basically 200 maternal cases. We train health officers as well as providing family medicine, this month being breast cancer awareness month we are actively collaborating with the Otumfour Foundation to create awareness of the disease. Total deliveries last year was 3,876 with a total cesarian section for the half-year was 576 and normal vaginal delivery 1,543, which is an average of 80 deliveries in a week”.
He further asserted the mission as a health facility is to improve the health status of the people of Manhyia south through the provision of quality health care delivery by well-motivated staff through good leadership and management.

He continued that, Manhyia is firmly in support of their good work and will continue to support the Hospital to achieve its objectives.
The project will kick start fully in October this year and will be completed in August 2022 by JoBerg construction company a subsidiary of JoeBerg company Ltd.
