Kwame Adu-Mante elected to serve next GIBA Executive Council

Mr. Kwame Adu-Mante, CEO of Focus 1 Media Group has been elected to serve the next Executive Council of the Ghana Independent Broadcasters Association.

GIBA is an association of authorized and operational non-state-owned, private, and independent broadcasting organizations, formed to promote members’ common interests. GIBA also enhances the utilization of her and members’ resources to make a positive contribution to Ghanaian society.

Today, August 26, 2021, Mr. Kwame Adu-Mante, the Chief Executive Officer of the Focus 1 Media Group has been elected to serve the next Executive Council of GIBA. Before becoming the CEO of the Focus 1 Media Group, Mr. Adu-Mante had been very active in the broadcast industry. In January 2000 he served as a night radio presenter. He later became the Marketing and General Manager of Skyy Power FM in Sekondi-Takoradi.

The Focus 1 Media Group is made up of Pluzz 89.9Mhz, Spice 91.9Mhz, Ofie 105.9Mhz, Beach 105.5Mhz, and Orange 107.9Mhz.

Other candidates who were competing for leadership positions to help manage the affairs of GIBA, include Abdulai Awudu from Adom FM. There was Mathew Martin Anderson of Aseda FM, Cecil Thomas Nee Lantey Sunkwa-Mills of GoTV, Kwabena Amponsah from Top TV, Ernest Boateng of eTV Ghana, and Prince Hari Crystal of Crystal TV.

The election which took place at the Golden Tulip Kumasi City Hotel saw Cecil Sunkwa-Mills elected as President of GIBA. Also elected to serve, were Abdulai Awudu and Mr. Kwame Adu-Mante. The newly elected Executive Council would be sworn in later to manage the affairs of GIBA for the next three years.
